Lynmore Estates Receives Environmental Leadership Award

Lynmore Estates received the Environment Leadership Award in the neighborhood category at the annual Middle Georgia Earth Day Kickoff Luncheon on April 22, 2015 at the Ocmulgee National Monument. Lynmore Estates was recognized for its grassroots efforts to “clean and green” its neighborhood with initiatives such as its quarterly neighborhood cleanups, community garden, community orchard, and entryway enhancements. There were a wide variety of guest speakers and sponsors at the local event. The main focus was to inform the guests about local environmental friendly companies and also to give a special thanks to a select few for being leaders in the environment safe evolution. Many people don’t understand the harmful effect that most of us cause in our daily routines. I learned about a lot of projects going on in the Macon-Bibb area that are centered on bettering the earth and the making it a better place for the future. I am proud to say that I am a part the Lynmore Estates community because we have a common goal of making the earth healthier, cleaner, and safer for present and future generations. The main thing I learned from the event was that as long as we speak about the problem instead of resolving it; it will only get worse. The Middle Georgia Earth Day Kickoff Luncheon is an event that I will continue to attend and I will also continue to spread the word about all the local programs and events that not only helps Macon look better but the earth as a whole.
