Lynmore Estates Plants a New Garden and Tree Orchard
The sun was shining high in the sky all day as temperatures climbed to nearly 90 degrees with high levels of humidity thickening the air. It was the perfect day in Lynmore Estates to plant this year’s community garden on Irving Avenue which will provide the neighborhood with many vegetables such as various peas, tomatoes, corn, and other crops donated to the neighborhood. After planting the garden in the morning, many volunteers left for a lunch break until returning to work in a new location of the neighborhood. On Shi Place, Lynmore Estates has dedicated a lot to be the neighborhood’s new tree orchard. There, volunteers helped plant peach, pear, and apple trees along with a purple plum tree in the middle with plans to plant more trees in the coming months to fill out the orchard for a beautiful bloom this summer and harvest in two years. Throughout the day, volunteers worked hard to build these new monuments to the community’s unity and dedication without complaint. Now, they are all waiting with the rest of Lynmore Estates to see the labor blossom. Below are some images from the events:
