“Yakety Yak” was a popular song of the ‘60’s admonishing youth of the day about back talking. However, on Friday eve of June 27, 2014, Living Waters Full Gospel Ministries’s (LWFGM) Youth Against Crime (YAC) could be heard throughout the neighborhood talking back loud and clear against crime and for peace. Staged under a big pecan tree on the campus of Southside Community Church, youth from LWFGM belted out songs, quick stepped dance and spit raps of praise to the approximately 60 onlookers. Riveting testimonials were also heard from a grieving mother of gang violence and a born again convert. The event was held on the evening of Friday, June 27, 2014 to encourage youth in Lynmore Estates against crime. There were mixture of race, gender and generations in attendance for this super hyped, energy infused event. Each of the pastors of the two local active churches in the neighborhood, Countryside Baptist and Southside Community Church, greeted the group. Entertainment, food and prizes were the highlights of the event organized by Gloria Brooks who hopes to make the Lynmore Estates venue a staple of the event. The mission of Living Waters Full Gospel Ministries, founded by Bishop Michael and Pastor Alice Burney, is to glorify God, exalt the Lord Jesus, turn men from darkness, equip believers, and serve others around them and to follow the Principles of God set forth in the Scriptures as a pattern for men threw out the ages. To learn more, visit the church at 1686 Williamson Road, Macon, Ga 31206 and www.fullgospelliving@bellsouth.net or call them at (478)788-1070.
