October Yard of the Month
The home of Ernest and Venus Causey at 4225 Marion Avenue was chosen as the October winner of the Lynmore Estates Yard of the Month (YOM) Award Program which supports current revitalization efforts in the Lynmore Estates neighborhood.
The Causey’s moved to the neighborhood six years ago and are proud homeowners of Lynmore Estates. Mr. Causey also works in the neighborhood. Mrs. Causey took over their yard maintenance from Mr. Causey because he “mowed down everything.” Mrs. Causey keeps the lawns nicely manicured and has planted various flowers and shrubs. She enjoys her yard and happy that one of her neighbors thought enough of her efforts to nominate their home for the YOM award. Drive by and see the Halloween decorated Causey home for a real treat.
The Lynmore Estates Yard of the Month committee chooses one yard in this south Macon neighborhood. A "Yard of the Month" sign is posted on the property for the month and the property owner is given a framed certificate and a $25 gift certificate from Minton’s Lawn and Garden Center. The presentation is photographed for inclusion on the Lynmore Estates and Macon Area Habitat for Humanity websites and for submission to the "Neighbors” section of the Telegraph for publication. Winners of the Yard of the Month automatically qualify for the Yard of the Year Award which carries a bigger prize.
